About the event
The Spiritual Path: Return to Ithaca
The spiritual path consists of a return journey to the source of our being. This presentation will illustrate how the journey of Odysseus to his homeland of Ithaca, to reassert himself as the rightful king and to reunite with his wife Penelope, may be viewed as a symbolic representation of the inner journey of spiritual transformation. Gary will outline how the study and contemplation of mythic symbolism can offer us insight into our own 'inner landscape' and the challenges and rewards of the spiritual path. Copies of Gary's book Greek Hero Myths Symbols of Transformation will be available to purchase on the evening.
Gary Kidgell is a member of the Edinburgh Lodge having joined the Theosophical Society in 1994. He is the former Organising Secretary of the Scottish Regional Association and a former member of executive committee of the European Federation of Theosophical Societies.…
